AllAuthor Interview
In a comprehensive interview, Paul gives some experiences about his early life, passions, and influences, with particular emphasis on writing and photography. He also explains what inspired him to write his debut novel. For instance, he tells of his motivation and enthusiasm for learning more about the history of Yosemite and its people. This was after spending some time photographing Yosemite National Park and the Sierra Nevada. Subsequently, this led to his interest and research into the origins of the park, its indigenous inhabitants, their way of life, and their fate.
My favorite character from the book is the main character, Chief Tenaya. I found him brave, wily, and big-hearted. He had a singular devotion to his family and people and put their interests way above his own personal needs and dangers.
